Judi has been an established clay artist for many years having work excepted for numerous exhibitions and winning several pottery awards one being a merit in the prestigious Fletcher Challenge exhibition. Her work has featured on National television and in many art publications. Many years of being immersed in several mediums has led to the culmination of the body of work she is creating today. These include clay/ design/ fabric/ concrete and mosaics. One of her many achievements have been in the mosaic field resulting in the construction of mosaic outdoor garden rooms that have become a New Zealand tourist attraction.
Throughout her artistic career she has shared her knowledge with many enthusiastic students who have developed and discovered their own personal direction in the art world and many themselves continuing in a teaching capacity.
Judi works from her busy workshop attached to L’Arte Gallery which is nestled into the magnificent mosaic garden in Acacia Bay on the fringe of Lake Taupo. Here along with her daughter Jo and Jo’s partner Andrew they have established L’Arte mosaic Café’ and Gallery.
L’Arte has become a very popular tourist attraction and has this year been recognised by the Lonely Planet publication as one of New Zealands top 10 places to visit.
